Hello world!

Attention

This is the inagural post for a new collaborative endeavor. We have formed a small, exclusive team to dump bits onto this blog on the topic of the attention economy.

Hopefully the dynamics of a team effort will be productive and useful. We haven’t yet developed any kind of a posting schedule/cycle, and may never get to anything so formal. I’m intrigued by the potential to breathe some energy into the process by making this blog into an ongoing conversation.

A quick blurb about the team - Eric Wagner is mostly responsible for taking the initiative and making it happen. He is a banker, and has been avidly pursuing the implications of attention on his industry. I’ll let him go into more detail whenever it makes sense. Also, he lives where it is very cold. My name is Todd McKinney, and I am a software developer. Like most devs, I have an opinion on just about everything. I live where it is not so very cold. Here is my opinion in a nutshell: There is tremendous economic and personal value in measuring and tracking our attention. From lifestreaming to data mining to skynet (aka GOOG) this is one of the great frontiers of our time. We’re going to talk about it here.
